VIDEO: Ronald Araújo on renewing his Barça contract

It was announced on Tuesday that Ronald Araujo will be staying at Barcelona until at least 2026, after club and player came to an agreement on the renewal of his contract. 

Araujo joined Barcelona in August 2018. Originally, he signed a five year deal with the club after joining for a fee of 1.7 million euros plus another 3.5 million in variables. He initially began his time at the club playing for Barca B, but since 2019, he has been in the Barcelona first team squad. The Uruguayan has currently played a total of 78 matches for the club, across which the centreback has scored six goals and made one assist.

Araujo's new deal at Barcelona reportedly has a buyout clause set at one billion euros so it is fair to say 'Los Azulgranas' value their centreback highly. Have a listen to the player's thoughts on his renewal in the video here!
