VIDEO: Götze helps PSV down Heerenveen

PSV hosted Heerenveen at Philips Stadion in the Eredivisie on Sunday. The team from Eindhoven avoided upset as they won the game 3-1 after drawing at half time.

The home side opened the scoring in the 13th minute through a Noni Madueke goal, but the away time levelled in the 36th to make it 1-1 at the break. PSV flew out the traps in the second half as Mario Gotze fired home after just one minute. Four minutes later Veerman doubled the home side's advantage and the score line remained the same until the final whistle.

The win gets PSV back on track in the league after two consecutive defeats. They are now 5 points behind leaders Ajax. Heerenveen meanwhile extend their losing streak to seven games in all competitions and sit in 11th place. Watch Gotze's goal during the match in the video above!
