Van Nistelrooy drops Winks from Leicester squad after clash over long commute

The 29-year-old, who continues to travel from his home in Hertfordshire, had previously done so under former manager Enzo Maresca without issue. However, Van Nistelrooy is reportedly no longer willing to accommodate Winks' lengthy daily journey.
The tension between the two escalated during the international break, when Van Nistelrooy asked Winks to stay overnight at the club's training ground once a week to help with preparation.
The midfielder, however, refused, sparking a confrontation. The Dutch manager, known for wanting to instil strict discipline at the club, had hoped that this arrangement would help improve focus, particularly ahead of important fixtures.
Winks, who has personal reasons for his long commute, is one of three senior Leicester players who travel over 90 miles each day to reach the training facility in Seagrave.
The dispute has left his availability for Monday's match against Newcastle uncertain, with reports indicating that the disagreement with his manager became quite heated.
