Valencia have informed the entire squad and coaching staff that they are scheduled to start pre-season training on 5th July, including Gonçalo Guedes, Jose Luis Gaya and Carlos Soler, whose continuity is still up in the air.
However, looking at the players who will be at Valencia's training complex at the beginning of next month with the Italian coach at the helm, the conclusion is that Valencia's squad is somewhat poor and limited.
In terms of the shortcomings that the 'Che' team have in their squad, the need for wing players is obvious. The Italian coach's style of play is based on having players on the wing, pure wingers who can also play on the opposite flank.
The curious thing about the Spaniard's squad is the lack of balance, with four goalkeepers (Cillesen, Mamardashvili, Jaume and Rivero) and three left-backs (Gaya, Lato and Jesus Vazquez).
A real nonsense that can only be solved by the 'Gattuso effect' and make profitable a club that has been losing top players or other assets that were owned by Valencia, as the plan of the technical secretariat in recent markets was to sign players on loan.
