United's injury crisis opens door for academy prospects at Spurs

Manchester United's injury woes have forced manager Ruben Amorim to turn to the club's academy ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese tactician has included five youth prospects in the travelling party to North London, with midfielders Sekou Kone and Jack Moorhouse among those called up to bolster the depleted squad.

Former Arsenal prodigy Chido Obi-Martin, who recently netted a hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup, has also made the journey south alongside promising left-back Harry Amass and goalkeeper Elyh Harrison.

Amorim's hand has been forced by a string of injuries to key players, including Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo, leaving United short of options in several positions.

The manager remained coy about potential debuts when questioned about Obi-Martin's chances, stating, "We have to be careful on that. We had some problems this week".

With United currently languishing in 13th place, Amorim will be hoping the injection of youthful energy can spark a turnaround in fortunes against Ange Postecoglou's high-flying Spurs.
