Kion Etete is more established than ever at Tottenham and, moreover, he is gaining a destination where he will be able to demonstrate his quality. The club announced the renewal of his contract for two years, until June 2023, and an agreement with Northampton Town for his loan move. Northampton Town play in League Two, the English fourth division.
"Kion Etete has signed a new contract with the Club until 2023 and has joined League Two side Northampton Town on loan for the 2021/22 season. Congratulations and good luck, Kion!" reads the message posted by Spurs on their social Twitter account. Several fans congratulated him on his move.
His new coach, named Jon Brady, told his squad's official media outlet that they have been "tracking" the youngster "closely" for some time and have "watched a number of times". "We think he will be a different type of threat for us and can work well with the other strikers at the club," he added.
"He is good with his back to goal, his link up play is very effective and he provides a goal threat himself. I think it is a big tick for the club, the coaching structure we have in place and the staff we have here that Tottenham believe this is the best place for Kion to continue his development," he said.
