Tottenham launch £38m bid for Icardi

Tottenham have tabled a £38 million offer for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The 23-year-old has also been linked with north London rivals Arsenal, as well as Atletico Madrid, who have reportedly even made a £29 million offer, with Diego Simeone making contact with Icardi’s wife in order to seal a deal.

However, the stated source are claiming that Spurs are willing to outbid the Champions League finalists, with Pochettino in urgent need of a new striker.

Despite the fact they have Harry Kane, whose 25 goals won him the Premier League Golden Boot, Dele Alli was the only other player to reach double figures last season, meaning the Argentine coach is now looking to bolster his attacking options.

Icardi scored 16 goals and registerd 4 assists in 34 appearances for the Serie A side last season.
