Thiago Silva is in his fourth season with Chelsea since joining the club in 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain. The 39-year-old has been a key player for Pochettino this season having started all 10 Premier League games.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain player knows he is in the final stages of his career and has told Sky Italy that retirement is a difficult decision to make.
“The end of my career is getting closer… it’s not easy. You’ve to think about when you want to retire, where do you go as final club, the family, my kids play at Chelsea…,"said the Brazilian defender.
“I’m just focused on enjoying my final year of contract at Chelsea. I don’t know what’s gonna happen next year but I’m very happy of my career”, told Sky Italy.
Chelsea have had a tough start to the season with only three wins from 10 games and find themselves in 11th place in the Premier League.
“We have new manager, we need time to improve. Under Poch we train stronger, we run more,” added the Brazilian centre-back about current coach Mauricio Pochettino.
