In Colombia they still cannot understand why James does not get more minutes for Real Madrid. Even Fredy Rincon and Faustino Asprilla have spoken about the Madrid player.
James has wanted to put the controversy to bed with his comments on 'Gol Caracol'. To start with, he denied that he had a problem with Zidane.
"There was never a problem. Every coach has his preferences. We have a normal relationship, a working one," James began, who denied that the trip for the birth of his son was a reason to cause problems: "Not at all, what problems is the birth of a son going to cause?" The Colombian said that some acts and words were not true.
"A lot of things are said about me and they are almost all lies. What makes me most uncomfortable is that my professionalism is questioned, I don't accept that. I'm very professional, that is why I have reached where I have reached. It makes me calm that there are people on my side and those who have worked with me know what I am talking about. I look after myself like no one else. I train loads every day. I always want to improve," he continued.
James, that said, is no longer so sure that he wants to stay at Madrid in the future: "In the future you don't know what is going to happen, but if I could choose, I would pick a club where I could show my ability."
Aware of the controversy over him and Zidane in his homeland, he defended the French boss: "I don't think it's fair that there are disrespectful comments made towards someone because they don't play a certain player. I don't agree with the fact he's insulted. I would ask for more respect!"
Asked about his lack of minutes, James joked and admitted he did not know why he does not play more: "It's a good question, I would ask like to know that. As I've said before, when you win important titles with players who you have trusted, it's difficult to change."
"It's difficult to show your ability when you have little game time, you cannot do everything you know you can. Those which are in the world of football know what I'm saying," he concluded.
