"The Super Champions League, a catastrophic lie by UEFA and the ECA

Javier Tebas, the La Liga president, has published in 'El Mundo' his opinion on the changes to the Champions League which could take place. This is the text in full:
"The Super Champions League which the ECA-UEFA coalition plans seems like a conspiracy, with secret meetings, which stop being secret when they are revealed by the press, and without taking into account all the European leagues. They are the representatives of the competitions and of collective interests of the clubs which sometimes does not coincide with those of individual clubs."
"UEFA and the ECA are constructing a competition which in the medium to long term will be an absolute failure and which attacks directly the domestic competitions because it is a coalition divided between the rich and the poor in which only 32 of them will have a VIP pass."
"The emotional blackmail from the the motors of European football have made UEFA agree to review their Champions League format and they want adapt just to make the richer clubs richer. They keep on talking about figures, formats, dates and weekends, with a complete lack of knowledge of the real effects these changes would have as well as the rest of football."
"We all know that ECA only represents a few. It's the aliby or the excuse the big clubs in Europe use to get their objectives. In the ECA there is no debate, there is a kitchen with access limited to 12 or 13 diners, and when they have finished cooking and eating, they invite the rest to coffee. In the football world's eyes, it seems like the banquet has been celebrated by everyone. That's a lie."
"The leagues in all countries are sporting and economic motor of football, there are 100s of clubs, 1000s of players playing with their salaries and their families; thousands of jobs around these competitions (administration, media, hotel sector, retail) which in Spain make up 1.37% of the GDP. "
"Have you thought in any moment in that kitchen the damage that European football banquete would cause? No, they don't even want to think about it. They haven't thought about the effects it would cause themselves. Knowing that one of their leaders was shouting to everyone that every club would earn at least 900 million euros puts your hairs on end. It's outrageous."
"We will have time to debate and explain the effects, but it has to be cleat that the European leagues are not willing to accept decisions which affect our competitions be taken after a simple consultation with UEFA. Either an agreement is reached or not only we will not support any reform, but also it will not be viable."
"UEFA's and ECA's plans are dangerous not only for La Liga, but for all domestic leagues in the world. FIFA has seen it in time and has modified its planes in the fans' benefit and in solidarity with football. The Club World Cup will be a sustainable competition, supportive and transparent which will respect fans and clubs regardless of their economic situation. It will be once every four years, there will be a fair distribution of the money and respect for the domestic competitions."
"The reform which UEFA and the ECA are thinking of doing will not go ahead, however much they try, because the leagues will block it. Some powerful clubs, loaded with momeny, still can't see that their ture enemy are the clubs onwned by states (like Man City and PSG), who are producing a mass inflation of salaries, with the collusion of UEFA, who as they say in legal circles 'lost to PSG on purpose at the CAS.' Can anyone understand how UEFA missed a deadline? Come on, we are not that stupid!"
