Referees Iosu Galech Apezteguia, Jose Luis Guzman Mansilla and Miguel Sesma Espinosa will be promoted to the Spanish top flight for the 2025-26 season, while Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes, Mario Melero Lopez and Juan Luis Pulido Santana, who will become VAR referees, will leave.
In the Women's League, Raquel Suarez Gonzalez and Melissa Lopez Osorio will join the top flight, according to the report of the 2024-25 season made public this Tuesday by the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Ruben Avalos Barrera and Oliver de la Fuente Ramos will also serve as VAR, who will cease to be main referees in a Second Division to which Luis Bestard Servera, Alonso De Ena Wolf, Gorka Etayo Herrera, Alejandro Morilla Turrión and Alejandro Ojaos Valera will be promoted.
The CTA proposes to FIFA to include in the list of 15 international referees for 2026 the Balearic Mateo Busquets Ferrer and the Alicante, attached to the Aragonese Committee, Paola Cebollada Lopez among the 17 assistants.
The referees distinguished with the Vicente Acevedo Trophy to the best of the 2024-2025 season are Javier Alberola Rojas and Guillermo Santiago Sacristan as assistant in LaLiga; Iosu Galech Apezteguía in Second Division, with Ion Rodríguez Portela as assistant, and in Women's First Division Paola Cebollada López and Nahia Alonso Fernández, also proposed to be international assistant.
