"The players must be held responsible; firing Solskjaer is the easy way out"

The crisis that Manchester United is going through could cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job this weekend. If the result against Everton is negative, it is clear to England that the Norwegian will have to give up his position.
However, not everyone at the club is against Solskjaer. In fact, there is a prevailing thought that the players should take more of the blame. Recently, Gary Neville and Allan Brazil have called for a clean-up of the squad and even pointed the finger at Paul Pogba.
Now, the legendary ex Tottenham and Liverpool player Graeme Souness is echoing that thought. He even goes so far as to suggest that Manchester United players could be trying to get rid of Solskjaer.
"The players have underperformed, but as the world of football is today, the whole focus is on changing the coach," Souness criticised the habit of firing the coach as soon as the team has bad form.
"Sometimes these players need to stand up and be pointed out. There is less and less of that in the Premier League. You have to ask your players to constantly look at themselves in the mirror," he continued.
And Souness insisted on asking the squad for explanations: "I wonder if any of the United players are doing that at the moment or if it's the easiest route. The easiest way out is to get rid of the coach and everything will be fine".
