"The national team? I have to keep proving it on the pitch"

Brahim Diaz, scorer of the winning goal against RB Leipzig (0-1), said after retiring with discomfort in the 84th minute that he felt "a knock" and that he doesn't know if he "pulled up the soleus" in his right leg, but that he is confident that the tests he will undergo on Wednesday will conclude that it is "nothing" serious.
"Right now I don't know what's wrong with me. I felt a knock and I don't know if my soleus went up. Tomorrow we'll do tests and it won't be anything", he explained on Movistar Plus. Brahim scored a great goal, dribbling past four players and shooting from distance at the long post; an action that he described after the match.
"I receive the ball, I make the first fake, I see that they are afraid to go in... and I put it into the top corner. A beautiful goal," he said. "Very happy to be able to help the team with the goal and for the work of the team despite the casualties, we continue to show that we are a great team," he added.
The forward analysed the victory in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie and was confident that they will be more clinical in the second leg. "We had chances. So did they. It was a nice game. We didn't benefit from the back and forth, but we played a great game. We had them and we'll score them in the second leg," he said.
Brahim said, when asked if he hopes to be called up to the Spain squad for the first time, that he must "continue to show on the pitch the value" he has.
