The longest week

On the pitch in Kiev, after his side had brought home a remarkable third consecutive Champions League trophy, Ronaldo managed to add a cloud to the clearest of skies by making some dubious comments about his future at Real Madrid.

The forward caused worry amongst all Madrid fans, stating that he would be discussing his future at the club in the next few days.  "It was nice to be at Real Madrid all this time," he said. "In the next few days I'll give a definitive response to the fans, as they've always been on my side. I've enjoyed this moment a lot."

Although Real fans were on cloud nine after the Champions League victory, it was impossible to not be slightly concerned by the statements, and now, over a week after the final in Kiev, we are still awaiting further information from the Portuguese international. 

Ronaldo is expected to join up with the Portugal squad for training on Monday, after taking a mini-break in Marbella, and it is expected that his commencement of World Cup preparations will spell the confirmation or denial of rumours that he will leave Madrid this summer.

After his statements in Kiev, there have been more than a few rumours over the forward's future. A move to Manchester United, or PSG, staying at Real Madrid without Neymar, staying at Real Madrid with Neymar...All that fans of Madrid want to hear is that their biggest star is staying, and the days leading up to his next public statements will be long for all those who follow Real's number seven.
