Juan Mata has been playing less at Man Utd as time has gone along. The Spanish attacker left Valencia when he was a star to end up at Old Trafford and make a step forward in his career.
The first few seasons were key, but the arrival of young talents and his age have seen him ostracised again. Without going any further, this season he has played just 171 minutes. His current contract expires this summer.
The Spaniard is clear that he will not renew and that he will leave Manchester for free. He will make a return to Spain, where he hopes to return to his best. Now, 'The Athletic' says that he will return to his country when the season ends.
The previously mentioned source said that several clubs are interested in his arrival, although they did not give names. One of those he was linked with previously was Betis. After 11 years in England, Mata thinks it is now time to return to Spain.
