The Argentinian has 523 goals in 600 matches. Pele managed to score 643 goals in 659 official matches with Santos.
5. The footballer with the most wins in Spain
Messi has 298 wins to his name with Barcelona. The current leader is Iker Casillas, who won on 334 occasions with Real Madrid.
6. The player with the most Ballon d'Or trophies
He is the current leader in this one with five Ballon d'Or trophies. Cristiano Ronaldo is just behind him on four.
7. The player with the most Golden Boots
Both Messi and Ronaldo have been able to claim this honour on four occasions
8. The player with the most European trophies
He has seven trophies having won four Champions Leagues and three European Super Cups. He trails Dani Alves, Paolo Maldini and Arie Haan, who have nine.
