Marc-André Ter Stegen's renovation with Barcelona is getting closer and closer. The German goalkeeper, who has a contract until 2022, will extend his ties with the club by four or five years.
This is what 'Mundo Deportivo' assures, that informs about a supposed meeting between the goalkeeper's agent, Gerd Vom Bruch, and the technical secretary of the club, Eric Abidal, in order to reach an agreement.
However, it seems that the German is not making it easy. According to the source, Ter Stegen's contract negotiation was made more difficult because of his doubts over his teammates' commitment to the club.
All this added to the interest shown by teams like Juventus, Bayern Munich and Chelsea in signing the experienced 28-year-old goalkeeper, who has already spent six seasons defending the Camp Nou goal.
However, negotiations are progressing more than expected after the country's alarm over the coronavirus outbreak, to close the renovation as soon as possible, as it seems that both the wishes of the coveted goalkeeper and those of Barça coincide.
