Ten Hag to decide Man Utd's new leadership group: reports

Bruno Fernandes was appointed as Manchester United's new captain several days ago and manager Erik ten Hag is already considering several players to join him.
According to several reports in England, the Dutch coach is set to decide on his new leadership group for the 2023/24 season. Harry Maguire was removed from his role as skipper and handed over to Fernandes.
Meanwhile, David de Gea has left the Red Devils after 12 years at Old Trafford and a player from Ten Hag's squad will have to take his place for next campaign.
Casemiro, who took the captain's armband in the friendly against Arsenal when he replaced the Portuguese skipper, is one of the main contenders to be part of United's new leadership group.
Tom Heaton, in whom the Dutch boss put his faith in last year for the leadership team, was asked if they had already met to discuss the issue.
"No, not yet, it's still quite early. There has been a change of captaincy as well but I'm sure it will get sorted at some point. This club sets the highest possible standards and you look to the leadership group to set those standards really," he answered.
"I was part of that last season and I would hope to be going forward as well. The manager put it together really. He organises that. We have got plenty of leaders in our dressing room and [we] get together if things need addressing or sorting or talking to the manager," he concluded.
