Sol Campbell fell in love with the football that was played in his native country and did not want to disassociate himself from it in his career as a player. He had his first chance at Tottenham and then went on to become an Arsenal legend.
The former player joined Spurs in 1992 and spent a decade defending the shield. From there he left with a 1999 EFL Cup under his arm and headed to Arsenal.
He spent four years with the Gunners, but it was more than enough to expand his record and become one of the fans idols': two Premier League titles, two Community Shield titles and three FA Cup titles.
After passing through Portsmouth and Notts County, he returned to Arsenal in 2010, but ended up hanging up his boots in the 2010-11 season with Newcastle United.
In 2017-18 he began a new phase of his life and became an assistant on the benches of the Trinidad and Tobago national team to, the following season, take a step forward and return to England.
His stay at Macclesfield Town was short as an economic crisis shook the team and Campbell had to leave after a mutual agreement with the club.
However, he is ready for a new adventure and has been linked to Southend United. Will it be the last step before reaching the Premier League?
