"Simeone's era will last as long as he wants it to"

Atletico Madrid's elimination from the Copa del Rey has been the latest blow to a still hurting the ‘Colchoneros’ fans. The ‘Rojiblancos’ lost on Wednesday their clearest option to compete for a title this season.
A former Atletico man Diego Godin wanted to praise the figure of Cholo Simeone in a La Liga event: "If anyone is capable of lifting the team, it is Simeone. He has always pulled the ship and righted the course. Simeone's era will last as long as he wants it to. It will depend on the desire and enthusiasm he has to move forward. There is a great squad. It is spectacular. They have had a spectacular season so far. It's going to be whatever Cholo wants."
"This is part of football. In a month I was alive in all competitions and now.... What worries me most is how you get up after these hard blows. It's a stretch that needs a lot of attention because of everything at stake. La Liga can become much more uphill," he continued.
However, the Uruguayan centre-back does have his favourite to win the league: "Barcelona is my favourite right now. That's the reality. Every point starts to make you think a lot. There is still a lot of league ahead. It's going to be exciting.
Finally, Godin praised the performance of Pablo Barrios this season: "He is a youth player, but he is already a reality. He is a player who can make mistakes, which is part of the way, but they ask for it, they play it. He has left a historic player on the bench".
