Manchester City's Leroy Sané has praised David Silva for his late winner against Hoffenheim on Tuesday, saying it felt like the Spaniard's goal "lifted Manchester City's frustrations" , in what has been a faltering start to their Champions League campaign this season.
Prior to the goal, the contest seemed to be destined for a draw, as despite a dominant performance away from home, City had lacked a cutting edge to really make their excellent performance count.
An excellent performance from Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann seemed to have earned his side a point, if it were not for a late mix up in the hosts' defence, which allowed David Silva the opportunity to steal into the box and grab the victory for City.

After the game, young German Sané was full of praise for his senior teammate Silva, who ended a tough night for city by scoring the all-important goal: "It was a really tough game, but we knew it would be. I know their team a little bit and have some friends in the team. At the end we did really good and David's goal was perfect timing. We are really happy now."
Hoffenheim should have counted themselves lucky that they had not conceded the winner earlier on in the game, as despite a great performance, goalkeeper Baumann was lucky not to have given away a penalty, as he tripped an on-rushing Leroy Sané in the penalty area. However the poor decision fortunately could not deny City from beginning their points tally in the competition this season.
In his interview with the media aftert he match, Sané described just how important it was to achieve a victory after the shock defeat to Lyon last time out: "The Champions League is always tough,' said Sane. 'It doesn't matter when or who you play, everything is open. It doesn't matter how big the club is. But now we have made the next step we have three points and that's really good."
Sané continued: "Everything is like a final, we have to get the points to be first or second and get to the next round. We have to win the next two games, but we will take everything step by step."
