Salah sets new record as Premier League's top foreign scorer

The Egyptian forward, who has reserved his best form for what is likely his final season at Liverpool, immortalised himself further in Premier League history with his goals against Southampton.

This double saw him equal Aguero's record, although Salah is now on the hunt for the next milestone: Andy Cole, who sits in fourth place with 188 goals, is just four ahead. However, Salah is unlikely to break into the top three, which is held by Wayne Rooney (208), Harry Kane (213) and Alan Shearer (260), all of whom are over the 200-goal mark.

Salah made his Premier League debut in 2014 under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, but he only scored two goals during his time at Stamford Bridge. Since joining Liverpool in 2017, he has found his best form, netting 182 goals for the Reds.

His early days at Chelsea were marked by a lack of confidence from Mourinho, but he quickly became a key player for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. The winger's two goals for Chelsea came in a 6-0 win over Arsenal and a 1-0 victory against Stoke City, with the latter being his first Premier League start.

In contrast to his time at Chelsea, Salah hit the ground running at Liverpool, scoring on his debut in a 3-3 draw against Watford and adding 12 goals in his first 14 matches. His start to life at Liverpool was very similar to Aguero's debut, who scored a brace in his first Premier League match for Manchester City.

Salah is currently in his tenth season in the Premier League, although his first two seasons were relatively short. The comparison of their careers shows that Salah and Aguero have both played a similar number of matches to reach 184 goals: 292 for Salah and 275 for Aguero.
