Real Madrid lose Bale to injury

Gareth Bale has been diagnosed with a knee injury, following Real Madrid's 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday. 

The Wales international suffered the injury to his right knee during and will be off for at least five days, meaning that he will miss the La Liga game against Valencia on May 8.

A club statement read, "Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale, he has been diagnosed with a joint strain in his right knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed,"

Madrid are currently just one point behind the La Liga leaders, Barcelona, with two games remaining.
