It's better known as the 'FIFA virus', the effect the international break can have on teams. However, in Real Madrid they have the cure. Or they are immune. There is not another team in the world with a better record in games immediately following the break.
And it's not because 'Los Blancos' have fewer players leaving to reperesent their countries - they are Real Madrid after all. The two defeats have come against the two teams who have always troubled them: Barcelona (2015) and Atletico (2014).
These were also grudge matches for the opponents. In the previous games before these two losses Real Madrid had gone to the Nou Camp and the Calderon and taken all three points from their bitter rivals.
According to data compiled by 'AS', it was under Carlo Ancelotti where Real Madrid had the best record in these games.
That being said, it might not be the fault of the virus if Julen Lopetegui were to have problems in his next game. Gareth Bale is out along with Isco, Marcelo and Karim Benzema. Physically, the team is not at 100%.
