PSV Eindhoven v Atletico Madrid factfile

Form: Reigning Dutch champions PSV qualified from their group at the expense of Manchester United, taking four points off Louis van Gaal's side. Their form has been excellent throughout the winter, with just one defeat in their last 21 matches in all competitions. That came at home to Utrecht in the quarter-finals of the Dutch Cup last month, but they have won three on the bounce in the Eredivisie since then, all without conceding a goal. On Saturday they were too strong for Heracles, winning 2-0 at the Philips Stadion thanks to a Davy Proepper opener and a penalty from the Uruguayan Gaston Pereiro. Meanwhile, Atletico have been an incredibly difficult team to beat this season under Diego Simeone. They have a rock solid defence but have struggled for goals at times, as highlighted in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Villarreal in La Liga. That result left them eight points behind leaders Barcelona in Spain's top flight. And having already been eliminated from the Copa del Rey at the quarter-final stage by Celta Vigo, Simeone may now see the Champions League as his side's best chance of a trophy at the end of the campaign.
