The footballing world was full of praise for Paul Pogba after Manchester United defeated Manchester City at the Ethiad, with the midfielder's two goal haul branded as a 'turning point' in his career at United. However, just a week later it all flipped on its head, when he put in a disasterclass against West Brom, getting hauled off the pitch in the 58th minute as United lost to 20th placed West Brom 0-1.
Speaking ahead of United's trip to Bournemouth, Paul Scholes made it clear what he though of Pogba, slamming his inconsistency. "We have seen an amazing player in him – just not at United yet," he said on 'BT Sport'.
"He performs one in every three or four games, and as a United midfielder aiming to win the league that is not enough."
Scholes went on to brand the lack of consistent effort 'disrespectful'. "He went from that sensational performance (against Manchester City) to this on Sunday," he said.
"I thought it was a bit disrespectful towards his manager the way he played (against WBA)."
According to Scholes, Pogba doesn't play for the team. "I think he’s gone out wanting to create the Paul Pogba show," he continued, going on to say that he feels the Frenchman could leave the club in summer.
"Yeah I think he could (leave this summer)... I don’t really speak to him at the club but from the outside looking in it looks like the relationship isn’t great."
"When you see a performance like that on Sunday you almost feel like he thought he doesn’t care what the manager thinks."
"I think that’s disrespectful towards his manager and team-mates."
