"Pedri is already one of the world's best"
With the international window upon us, SPORT magazine highlights two names embodying the past, present, and future of Spanish football: Santi Cazorla and Pedri. The Asturian midfielder heaped praise on the Canary Islander, declaring: "He's already one of the world's best at his age. He's a unique player, one everyone enjoys watching whenever he plays."
Cazorla's praise continued. "FC Barcelona keenly feels Pedri's absence. They boast superb players in that position, but Pedri, I believe, gives the team a different touch. Above all, he strikes me as a very, very humble, normal guy, which I also really appreciate," he added.
He then offered an interesting reflection, one that perfectly encapsulates his own philosophy: "I believe the more normal a person is, the better footballer they become. I have a devotion to Pedri, and that's why I also asked him for his shirt."
Santi Cazorla even finds Pedri more captivating than Lamine Yamal. "Yes, it's because of the position he plays. I love watching Lamine; he's a different and game-changing player in his position. However, having played in Pedri's position myself, I naturally have a little more devotion for him for that reason, not for anything else," he clarified.
