At 17 years and 334 days, Pedri could become the next player after Ansu Fati to play in a match between Barcelona and Real Madrid despite being under the age of 18. Up to now, only eight players have done it.

Barcelona's beginning to the season has put Ansu Fati and Pedri, two teenagers, in the spotlight. Both scored in the last game against Ferencvaros. Now a big match is coming along and even though it is normally experienced players who play, Fati is pretty much certain to get some minutes. Pedri could play in his first 'Clasico' and join a select group of under 18s who have played in a 'Clasico'.

Up to now, only eight players have done so. Albeniz, Giralt, Vicente Martinez, Bayo, Petit, Raul, Bojan and Ansu Fati.

Fati is the most recent player to do so. That was when he came on in the second half of Barca v Real Madrid last December. He was 17 years and 48 days old and he became the youngest player to play in a 'Clasico' in the 21st century.

The man from Guinea-Bissau ended a run of 12 seasons without their being a player under 18 amongst the two teams after Bojan Krkic of Barca back on 23rd December 2007. That was aged 17 and 117 days

For Real Madrid, you have to go back to 1995 to come up with the most recent example. It was Raul Gonzalez Blanco, who did so aged 17 and 194 days in an unforgettable season. That campaign saw Jorge Valdano bring him on at Zaragoza

According to data analyst Mister Chip, the youngest was Isaac Albeniz in 1992 aged 16 years and 132 days. Armando Giralt played for Real Madrid aged 16 years and 317 days in the same year. Rene Petit was the other Real Madrid player. He made his debut when he was 16 years and 170 days old back in 1916.

For Barcelona, Vicente Martinez was the youngest to make his 'Clasico' debut (16 years and 280 days) only slightly younger than Josep Bayo i Bernad who was also a defender.
