Man Utd have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with the La Liga outfit to join the Premier League club.
"Manchester United is delighted to announce the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of French international defender and World Cup winner, Raphaël Varane, subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised," United said in a brief statement.
Real Madrid have also confirmed the news, but they have not given any more details. They have just mentioned the trophies he has won as well as giving thanks to the Frenchman and wishing him all the best.
This will be Madrid's second sale in defence after losing Sergio Ramos to PSG while it will be United's second big signing of the summer after that of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
He could make his competitive Man Utd debut in the home game with Leeds on 14th August at 13:30 CEST.
