Mesut Ozil has got a new club. After putting an end to his time at Fenerbahce, the German midfielder has joined another club in the Turkish league, Istanbul Basaksehir.
As the Turkish club announced via their official channels, the 33 year-old player has signed a contract until 30th June 2023, in other words, for next season, with the option of signing for another year.
Goksel Gumusday, the club's president, was with Ozil when he signed his Istanbul Baseksehir contract and during his official presentation to the media.
In an official statement published on their website, the Turkish club welcomed Ozil and wished him all the success in the world at the club.

The German player will be in the Turkish league for another season. He moved to Turkey from Arsenal in summer 2020, the club he has made 254 competitive appearances for. He scored 44 goals and provided 71 assists.
Before moving to the Premier League, Ozil, who was also at clubs like Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen, was at Real Madrid for four years. As a Real Madrid player, the now former Fenerbahce man scored 27 goals and assisted on 61 occasions in 159 matches.
In total, he has played 184 matches in the Premier League, 105 in La Liga, 101 in the Bundesliga, 32 in the Turkish league, 69 in the Champions League and 40 in the Europa League.
