Odegaard's future dependent on Modric

Real Madrid and Real Sociedad are calmly awaiting Luka Modric's decision. Whether he stays at Real Madrid or not will determine whether Martin Odegaard spends a second season on loan at Real Sociedad or not.

The crisis provoked by COVID-19 makes the Croatian footballer's chance of staying increase. And the thing is the market will not see as much spending in recent seasons. 

In this way, as long as Modric stays at Real Madrid, Sociedad can breath easy knowing they can enjoy having Martin Odegaard for another season, 'Marca' reports.

That said, Real Madrid will not force Modric to take a decision despite the fact he only has one year left on his contract. The Croatian has earned the right to determine what will happen with his future, whether he opts to stay or leave at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The cited source gives several options for the Croatian midfielder. He could stay at Real Madrid and then leave for free in summer 2021 to possibly the MLS.

If Modric opts for a move to AC Milan or Inter Miami, for example, that will see Martin Odegaard brought back by 'Los Blancos'.

Real Sociedad are hoping the Croatian decides to stay for another year at Real so that they have one of the best young talents in La Liga until at least summer 2021.
