Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said on Thursday after his side were eliminated at Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals that he has "nothing to reproach" his players because he felt they played "a great game, but playing here is not easy, I swear".
The Italian coach admitted in the press room of the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium, after the game they lost 2-1 in extra time, that they are "disappointed because the team did what they had to do in a beautiful game that was resolved by details that made the difference".
"I want to thank my boys for what they have done in the Europa League and in this game and it hurts me for them," said Allegri, who insisted that "Sevilla are very good, experienced and with players who pressed".
Allegri stressed that in his squad there are "young guys, who tonight played in a semi-final for the first time, they have no international experience", and underlined that these are "dirty games and they played well".
"You have to stay calm and by playing match after match you gain experience. Maybe next year we will learn from the details of this game and that will be good for us. The objective now is to get second place in the Serie A and improve our performance next year. We have to be clear-headed," he concluded.
