Nolito confirms that he almost signed for Barca

Nolito is still getting used to life at Manchester City where he is being coached by Pep Guardiola, one of the main reasons why he left Celta Vigo for City.
Luis Enrique made an attempt to sign the forward this summer, who he had already coached with Barca B and Celta Vigo, but Nolito decided to move to England in the end. "We were quite close [to moving to Barca] but in the end I decided to go to City. I think that it was the best decision for me and my family and I'm happy playing for City," he confirmed.
The winger also spoke about the upcoming Champions League match against Barcelona. "We all know what Barca are like, a great team, one of the best in the world and we'll see what happens. It'll be a good match to play in, it's going to be difficult, but that's the Champions League," he declared.
Nolito went on to talk about Lionel Messi who is an injury doubt for the game. "It would be better if he recovered for the match after ours. [But] Whoever plays for Barcelona, they have a great team and if Messi plays then... we know what he's like, we'll try to stop him," he commented.
Finally, he spoke of his good relationship with Pep Guardiola. "It's a privilege for me to work with him and I try to learn every day and make the most of the opportunities that he gives me," he concluded.
