Last summer it was reported that Barcelona were refusing to pay out a bonus included in Neymar's contract that would see the Brazilian star's father receive £23million.
Josep Vives, a Barcelona spokesman, declared that the conditions for the bonus payout had not been met, and therefore Neymar Santos Sr. would not be receiving the bumper financial package. He stated: "The club will not pay the bonus to Neymar's father. There were three conditions: the player must not negotiate his departure from the club during the month before the bonus became payable, he must demonstrate his desire to fulfil his contract, and that we would not pay out the bonus before September 1, to ensure the transfer window was closed.
"Now that we know that none of these three conditions were met, we will not honour that bonus."
The Brazilian forward left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in August 2017, in a world record £198m transfer. At the time 'Sky Sports News' reported that Neymar felt "very bad" with regards to the unpaid bonus.
As of now, the case is still in the hands of FIFA, with a spokesperson stating "The case is still pending."
