Thomas Muller has said that he will not take another penalty for at least "two weeks".
The news comes in the wake of his missed spot kick against Italy in Saturday's Euro 2016 quarter-final.
Muller saw his effort saved by Gianluigi Buffon and the Bayern Munich man has struggled to find the target recently, failing to register a single goal in the tournament.
"I will not be taking any penalties for the next two weeks," Muller said to Sport Bild .
"I will work on my technique at penalties for a bit and I will be back stronger in one or two months or so.
"I will take a step back and let others do the business for now.
"If a match goes to penalties again and we need someone, I will be available.
"But I will not be asking to take one myself."
Muller has also emphasised the importance of the team and not his personal contribution.
"I will keep trying to get a goal. If it happens, it happens.
"If we win the final without me scoring, I might not get as much credit in the media, but I will still be taking the trophy home," he added.
Will Muller be lifting the trophy come 10 July?
