"FIFA and its President understand the power of football, how to attract kids throughout sport and bring them the special values they need for life through what they love as solidarity and healthy living, without drugs and without racism," he said.
In an interview with FIFA, Mourinho said the two-day training sessions with schoolchildren in Lebanon and Beirut are the "beginning" of support for each of the kids and they could have a "very important influence and impact on them".
The Portuguese invited all football agents to participate in initiatives, as he has worked with former players such as Kaka, Eto'o, Desailly and the director of the FIFA Foundation, Youri Djorkaeff, to understand his influence on people and the ability of football to bring people together.
"The interaction between FIFA, clubs, current players and legends reflect the power of football. They should have experiences like this to understand what it means for people, because scoring a great goal or having a good game with a lot of people watching is a special feeling but you must also understand what it feels like for the rest of the world," he added.
Mourinho remembered that before he became a football coach he was a PE teacher and he considered that the most important thing in his career is the legacy that he has left in those who were his students in that time.
"I've come to bring a little of my experience becuase before being a top-level coach, I was a school teacher, a PE (physical education) teacher, and when I studied I was taught the value of our work. People can value my career by titles that I win or that I have won, but probably the most important part was when I was with these boys, who are now men and they remember these moments," he pointed out.
