"Mou and Pep are two different personalities with the same desire: to win"

Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o became one of the best foreigners in Barça's history on his own merits. Then, he arrived at Inter, continued to win... and maintained that excellent level throughout his career.
Now retired, the African recalled his time in the capital of Lombardy. "Barça's treble was different to Inter's. They had been waiting for the Champions League for 45 years and to arrive at such a special and hungry place and win it immediately seemed an impossible task," he explained.
Eto'o recalled that it was Materazzi who helped him decide when he was handling important offers to leave Barcelona: "That's how he became my brother. He wrote me: 'If you come to Inter, we will win everything'. I didn't have the number and I had to ask Albertini. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before."
Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, also had a lot to do with his arrival: "He sent me a picture of the Inter shirt with the '9' on it and said: 'It's yours, it's waiting for you'.
The Cameroonian told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he was the opposite of Guardiola: "The only thing these two coaches have in common is their desire to win. They are completely different personalities who have a different view of football."
The striker knew he had to leave Barcelona, so his disappointment with Guardiola was not so great, even though he would have liked to continue. And he remembered his game as a full-back at the Camp Nou with Inter.
"When Motta was sent off, Mourinho called me and Zanetti and explained to me how to play. I didn't even have time to think about how I should play at full-back or how much I should run," said the 2010 semi-finalist.
In conclusion, he revealed his message to his team-mates before the final in Madrid: "You don't play a final, you win. Either we take the cup to Milan or we don't come back."
