Messi looks for the goal he never scored at Anfield

The memory of Lionel Messi's stunning first leg performance still lingers in the air in Liverpool. His outrageous free-kick will go down in Champions League history, but Barcelona and Messi will be looking to avoid any surprises at Anfield tonight. A goal tonight would help avoid this, forcing Jurgen Klopp's side to score five to progress.
Not only would a goal tonight be crucial for his team, it would also be important to him on a personal level: it would be his first in a Champions League semi-final second leg. In the six he has featured in so far, he is yet to find the net. He did not feature against AC Milan in 2006 through injury, nor did he play against Bayern as they took the Spanish giants apart with a 3-0 win at the Camp Nou in 2013.
Of course, the Argentinian's most painful semi-final memory came against Chelsea in 2012. The match finished 2-2, and Roberto Di Matteo's side progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline in their favour. Before Torres' famous goal, however, Messi missed a penalty which could have changed everything.
The 31 year-old also failed to find the net against Manchester United in 2008, Chelsea in 2009 or Real Madrid in 2011, or Barcelona's most recent semi-final second leg which they lost 3-2 away to Bayern but won on aggregate. In one of football's most iconic grounds, Messi will look to break his duck.
