Diego Jr was born after one of Maradona's affairs while he was at Napoli. He refused to accept he was his son for a long time, but that changed in 2016. Now their relationship has changed.
Diego Sinagra is Maradona's most famous son. He has lived with the fact he is Maradona's son all his life, but without the support of his father, who refused to accept he was his until four years.
And as it ran in the family, he wanted to dedicate himself to football. "From the age of nine until 17, I played for Napoli's age group category teams," Diego Jr began.
"I was at Genoa Under 19, in the age group teams for the Italian team, they said I was doing well, but afterwards it was if I had switched the light off. I did not have the character to keep on progressing," he continued.
The deabte Messi and his father was also part of the interview. "Messi is a giant, I love him, much more than Cristiano Ronaldo, but much more, and I argue with people when they compare him to my old man."
"I also get angry when people in Argentina pick on him, 'leave the kid in piece', I tell them, because we have to enjoy it. Becuase after my old man, he is the greatest player in footballing history," he added in Messi's defence.
He continued to defend the Barca player. "I'm very fond of and have lots of admiration for Messi and for me he does not deserve the criticism he receives. Although I would love to see him, Messi does not deserve to win a World Cup to become the greatest, he is enormous and I will not judge him when he retires. People should not do it either on whether he won a World Cup or not, but on everything he gave us during the years he played, and on how much he made usn enjoy football.
