Messi disagrees with fans' vote for his best ever goal

Over half a million fans voted in a recent poll to decide Leo Messi's greatest ever goal, but the man himself does not agree with their choices. 

Messi's superb solo goal against Getafe in 2007 was voted his best, but in a recent interview with 'Ole', he denies that this was his best.

"I would not have chosen the goal against Getafe. I would have chosen the [one] against [Real] Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League at the [Santiago] Bernabéu or the Manchester United header [in the final]", he said. "I choose them for the moment."

The goal against United will stick in the memory for many due to the way that Messi, despite his small stature, got on the end of a Xavi cross to head beyond Edwin Van der Sar and effectively end the 2009 Champions League final as a contest.
