Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola did not want to talk about Benjamin Mendy's aquittal, who was found not guilty for seven of the nine charges of sexual assault which he was accused of.
"The club have made a statement and I can't say anything. Please, take the statement as my words".
The Manchester side released an announcement this Friday once the jury's decision was made public. "Manchester City have been informed of the verdict which Chester court have reached, where a jury declared Benjamin Mendy not guilty of seven charges. The jury did not reach a verdict on two of the charges and the trial ended".
There are still two cases open against the player, who will have to face another trial for rape and attempted rape on the 26th January 2024.
"Considering there are still two cases open to do with this case, the club is not in any position to comment at this moment", City added.
Mendy, who is 28, was suspended by Manchester City in August 2021.
