Marcus Thuram leaves France camp due to recurring ankle problem

Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi revealed last week that Thuram has been playing through a problem with his ankle for over a month, starting in both of the recent wins over Feyenoord and Atalanta for the 'Nerazzurri'.
The 27-year-old had arrived at Centre National du Football de Clairefontaine earlier on Monday to join the France squad, where he was assessed by the national team's medics to examine the extent of the injury.
"Due to a recurring problem with his right ankle, Marcus Thuram will not be able to partake in the games scheduled on Thursday 20 March and Sunday 23 March at the Stade de France against Croatia," reads a statement from 'Les Blues'.
The Frenchman has been released by Didier Deschamps ahead of the Nations League quarter-final tie against Croatia, allowing him to return to Italy and spend the international break trying to fully recover from the blow.
