Sadio Mane has had a difficult season at Bayern Munich due to his strain injury. The striker was out of action from November to February and missed the World Cup in Qatar.
As a result, the Senegalese has not had many opportunities and has not been able to perform as well as he would have liked. He has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 38 competitive matches this season.
The 31-year-old is reportedly linked with a move to a Premier League club as several reports claim that he is willing to leave his current club in the summer transfer window.
Former British MEP Martin Callahan wrote on Twitter that Mane has not ruled out a possible transfer to Newcastle. Nevertheless, his future may lie more at Old Trafford than at St James Park.
The Senegal international revealed in a 'Daily Telegraph' interview that he almost signed for Manchester United in 2016: "I have to say, I was really close to going to Manchester United. I had the contract there. I had it all agreed. It was all ready," he said.
Mane could be interested in Erik ten Hag's future plans and join the Red Devils, who need to strengthen their attack as soon as possible.
