Newcastle have managed huge success since their promotion to the Premier League. Thanks in part to an injection of funds by new owners, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, they finished their second season in the top flight in 4th, putting them in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
They even managed some huge wins against 'big six' clubs, even thrashing Tottenham 6-1 in April, and holding league champions Man City to a 3-3 draw at the start of the season. That experience was apparently as stressful as it seemed, according to midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who discussed the treble-winners on the 'Charla Podcast'.
“We know that Manchester City is a step above all teams in England, with all due respect", he began. He continued highlighting why the face-off is "horrible": "It’s the worst game when we play there, I hate it. It feels like we’re all children and they’re professionals. It’s horrible".
The Brazilian even went as far to say it feels like you're playing with half the number of men on the pitch: "It feels like they’re playing with 15 players, and we’re playing with seven. You look and say, ‘Wow, there are so many blue guys.’ It’s unbelievable. And they’re all crazy good".
