After a fairly balanced first period, Ten Hag's men get through the lower opposition of Burnley. Eriksen found the opening in the first period, after a great Wan-Bissaka cross, allowing him to simply tap home.
The second half brought more pressure from the home side which resulted in World Cup star Marcus Rashford getting on the score sheet too with a great solo goal.
This win leaves United in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup 2022/23, and they will await to see who they will be up against in the draw which takes place this Thursday, after the conclusion of the Manchester City-Liverpool game.
United manager Erik ten Hag named five players who had been at the World Cup in a strong starting line-up to face second-tier pacesetters Burnley, with Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia all involved from the kick-off at Old Trafford.
Burnley, managed by former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, kept the game scoreless until the 27th minute when Denmark midfielder Eriksen struck from close range following a cut-back by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Rashford doubled United's lead just before the hour mark with a superb solo effort, the England forward running from inside his own half into the Burnley box before clinically firing into the bottom corner.
