Manchester United Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is back on the training ground. The former Madrid player returned from training camp with the Brazilian national team injured. He then played in Ten Hag's 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle and had to be substituted before half-time with another injury and has not played for the Red Devils since.
The Old Trafford outfit welcome the good news after the recent 3-0 Premier League defeat to Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth. The club announced the news in a statement on its official website.
"Casemiro has started training on the pitch, as the Brazilian steps up his recovery for Manchester United. The 31-year-old has not featured for the Reds since October, having sustained an ankle injury while on international duty," read the statement.
"On Sunday, the midfielder was spotted training alone on the grass at Carrington, while his team-mates took part in a recovery session. It will be welcome news for Erik ten Hag, who has seen Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw return to fitness in recent weeks," concluded the statement.
