Maicon welcomed in Italy with... bread!

Saturday was a special day for Maicon, and above all for Sona Calcio, of the Italian fourth division. The Brazilian completed his first training session and took home a nice gift from his new club on the first day.

"Welcome, Maicon. On the occasion of the first training with Sona Calcio, he was given a symbolic tribute, bread, by the press office", the club statement says.

Sona also concluded on their social media with this message: "If a champion accepts to play in a small provincial club, it means that he is a real sportsman and that he is as good as bread".

The ex-Inter and Roma player has already worked with Sona and will be present in the stands for the next match, against Fanfulla, after showing "in good condition and very available to everyone" on his first day.
