Real Madrid are the 2024 super champions in Spain. They took revenge for their defeat to Barcelona in last year's final with a 4-1 thrashing that more than satisfied their president, Florentino Perez. The chief commented on his impressions on 'Movistar' when the players were already celebrating the title on the pitch.
"I'm happy because the fans are delighted to have watched a good match. There are a lot of Madrid fans here in Arabia, as you could see, who had one of the happiest nights. So many goals? In these two-match tournaments, it's normal for things like that to happen. We played very well in both games, we scored goals, people had fun and we have shown the fans here that we have a great team and that, every year, we are going to work hard to give excitement to the hundreds of millions of fans," he said.
He praised Vinicius: "He shines almost every time, he has deserved them - the goals - and he is very happy. The effort he makes in every game is phenomenal, that's why he's one of the best in the world. He's very young, he's happy and he's very good and he's going to get better every year.
"Mbappe? It's not really the day to talk about this, it's the day to congratulate the players we have, not the ones other teams have," continued the 'Merengues' chief.
"It's very good, we have a very good institutional relationship, I know the effort they are making. Today, he is sad as I am happy," he said of his relationship with Joan Laporta. "This is not the day to talk about referees either. I'm worried about everything that surrounds football, but today I'm only concerned about the fans' hopes", he added, focusing on the latter. Afterwards, he hurried back to the pitch to join in the celebrations.
