France is involved in the fight against discrimination. And it will be this weekend when they will launch a new campaign against racism with numerous initiatives in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.
Among these, the shirts of all teams will have patches with the word 'racism' crossed out on them. In addition, the logo will be displayed on protocol elements, such as corner flags.
Not only that. Referees, coaches and stewards will be wearing commemorative armbands. In the run-up to the match, giant tarpaulins will be unfurled in the centre circles of the stadiums.
The whole anti-racism phenomenon kicks off this Friday at 21:00 with Lille-Lens. A pitched battle for the top of the table, where both teams want to hold on to the Champions League places.
