Leeds United announced this Thursday the signing of Diego Llorente. The centre-back moves across from Real Sociedad and has signed with Marcelo Bielsa´s side for the next four seasons, until 30th June 2024.
Real Sociedad had already confirmed on Wednesday that an agreement in principle had been reached, but it is only in the last few hours that the centre-back has been able to sign his new cotnract and have his photo taken in the shirt of the English side.
Although Leeds haven´t confirmed the price, the Spanish media have reported that the deal was done for roughly 20 million Euros. Of that, Real Mardid have recieved the four million that was agreed upon during his sale in 2017.
"Being here is an honour and a great challenge for me. Making this decision has been very easy and I am looking forward to starting and helping my teammates"., said Llorente, his first words as a Leeds player.
According to the official press release from the English club, the ex-Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and Malaga player will wear number 14.
